Four days before the start of the second edition of Il Giro d’Abruzzo, organized by RCS Sport in collaboration with the Abruzzo Region, the official list of participants has been unveiled.
Among the top contenders for the final Maglia Verde Azzurra, we find George Bennett, third overall in 2024, and David De la Cruz, who recently finished in the top 10 at the Tirreno Adriatico. The fight for the general classification is expected to be wide open, with experienced riders like Valerio Conti (11th in 2024), Louis Meintjes, and Alessandro Covi lining up alongside rising stars such as Pablo Torres (2nd at the Giro Next Gen and winner of the 2024 Tour de l’Avenir), Mathys Rondel (4th at Giro Next Gen 2024), and Pavel Novak (5th at Giro Next Gen 2024).
Plenty of stage hunters will also be at the start, including sprinters like Enrico Zanoncello, Nicolò Parisini, Dusan Rajovic, Filippo Fiorelli, Itamar Einhorn, and Gabriele Bessega, as well as riders better suited to rolling terrain such as Sjoerd Bax, Walter Calzoni, Joel Suter, Alessandro Tonelli, Kristian Sbaragli, Simone Petilli, Kevin Biehl, and Alessandro Fancellu.
